About MRPV

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

The Role

We have an exciting position available within our project development team who work on our pipeline of road projects for Victoria. Some of these recent projects include: St Kilda Road bike lanes, the Ararat and Beaufort bypass, the Shepparton bypass and numerous metro projects. The current project development team are high performing, sociable and hard working.

This VPS6 Manager, Project Development role would be:

  • Leading the design and development of business cases for road projects around Victoria
  • Responsible for 1-2 complex projects that are in design phase
  • Leading, managing and mentoring a team of 3-4 (direct reports)
  • Engaging, managing and collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Driving the development of our business cases
  • Technically leading and advising on business cases
  • Writing business cases
  • Developing strategic frameworks, systems and tools to improve outcomes.

This is an ongoing position based in Melbourne CBD that is ideally full time.

About you

  • You may be from a design background and/or a technical engineering background
  • You're a driven, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • You will have strong leadership skills and enjoy mentoring and developing your team
  • You may have had some experience/exposure to writing business cases
  • You will be someone who can see the big picture and has a strategic mindset
  • You can work autonomously, juggle priorities and drive projects to meet tight deadlines
  • You'll have great interpersonal skills and will be good at building relationships
  • You will have an engineering degree and strong technical capability.
