Position Details
THE ROLE
The Emergency Management Support Officer develops, maintains and coordinates emergency management and business continuity planning and preparedness in the South-East. The role requires the establishment and maintenance of strong networks and relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders and assists in the coordination of regional-level interests in emergencies.
In times of events/emergencies, positions within the Emergency Management Team will be asked to undertake designated roles in the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing to support response, relief and recovery efforts in accordance with State Emergency Management Plan. This position may require after hours and weekend work in the event of an event/emergency,
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and management of a range of emergency management policy initiatives and programs.
- Operate as an effective team member in answering queries and providing timely advice, undertaking follow up action and identifying emerging issues.
- Assist with the monitoring and reporting on priority issues, risks and trends and assist to prepare and present comprehensive reports, briefs, submissions.
