About Us

The Loddon Mallee region delivers a range of Justice services, including custodial services at our prisons. This role will be based at Loddon Prison which is a medium risk facility, with a focus on the rehabilitation offenders.

About the Role

Industry Officers are responsible for the management and delivery of specific functions within prison industries. This includes assisting with the management of prisoner employment, safe operating procedures and other Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements, and compliance with prison industry procedures.

Key accountabilities include: overseeing the effective management of the metal fabrication industry, ensuring that equipment is maintained, supervising prisoner workers employed in the industry, assessing the performance of prisoners in the industry and maintaining security and control of prisoner movements.

The role requires leadership, maturity, sound judgement, confidence in decision making, with developed capabilities to coach, mentor and motivate prisoners.

Appropriate metal trade qualifications or equivalent relevant trade skills is desirable.
