Position Details

What you'll do 

The NSC Infrastructure Implementation Officer plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of bus infrastructure projects as well as engaging key stakeholders. This position  also contributes to the successful project delivery & design review of related infrastructure requirements to maximises value for money for the Victorian Government.

This position is required to support the management of multiple bus infrastructure tasks required as part of the all current and upcoming network service changes including timetable changes, route realignments and the introduction of new bus networks and/or bus routes across the state. This work includes undertaking site inspections and liaison with keys stakeholders such as council and bus operators, preparation of data packages suitable for handover to the data team (site notes, bus stop lists photographs), preparation of concept plans and cost estimates for Transport For Victoria (TFV) Network Planning and associated services and co-ordination with PTV process, contract management and specialist technical support.

What you'll bring to this role

Technical capabilities:

  • Demonstrated project management/coordination skills and contract management skills (including experience dealing with suppliers and contractors on a daily basis).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Road Safety Rules, Australian Standards, VicRoads and AustRoads engineering standards, and how these apply in practical situations on site.
  • Ability to review and comment on technical civil infrastructure designs, including an understanding of Engineering and Accessibility Standards are applied to bus infrastructure design and development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of public transport services and the role of PTV, TFV, Franchisees and other Government agencies.
  • Advanced computer literacy including GIS programs such MapInfo as well as Microsoft Excel, Word and records management systems.

Behavioural capabilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate consultation, stakeholder negotiations and correspondence on issues associated with delivery of infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to collate technical information and data to prepare clear and concise reports for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering or project/contract management (preferably both or significant experience in the other field).
