The Victorian Ombudsman is seeking applicants for an exciting and challenging role in a dynamic public sector office whose purpose is to ensure fairness for Victorians in their dealings with the public sector and improve public administration.

The role is located within Assessments and reports to the Deputy Ombudsman. You will manage and lead a team of staff to conduct enquiries into complex issues and identify potential systemic issues requiring investigation or other action.

You will be an effective people manager and strategic thinker who understands organisational pressures and is able to motivate others to achieve objectives and goals. You will work collaboratively across the office and establish and maintain internal and external relationships in pursuit of the Ombudsman's strategic objectives.

The attributes suitable candidates must possess include:

  • proven leadership and management experience in building and developing staff and high performing teams 
  • proven high level problem solving and investigative ability 
  • outstanding interpersonal skills.
