Position Details

Senior Solicitor

  • $98,396 - $108,724 plus 9.5% superannuation
  • Multi-disciplinary legal role with immediate start
  • This role will see you interacting with all parts of the business
  • CBD location, with some regional travel required

About the Role:

A rare and rewarding opportunity exists within the Legal Services Unit for a Senior Solicitor that wants to work in an inspiring space and mindset.  Reporting to a Principal Solicitor Team Leader of the Unit, the primary responsibilities of the Senior Solicitor are to:

  • Lead the development of a constructive culture within the Unit and participate in the development of the broader EPA's constructive culture.
  • Contribute to the development of EPA's Corporate Capabilities with the goal of achieving strategic priorities.
  • Act as Solicitor on the record for the EPA in litigation matters.
  • Provide quality, accurate, authoritative and useful legal advice.
  • Contribute to the successful operation of the Unit.

To be Successful in this Role:

  • A minimum of 3 years post admission experience and be admitted to practice as an Australian lawyer under the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2014
  • Extensive experience in providing high level and accurate advice on legal and policy matters, especially those dealing with administrative, criminal or quasi-criminal and/or planning law.
  • Sound knowledge of the law of evidence, the practice and procedure in the Magistrates', County & Supreme Courts, and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
  • Excellent Verbal and Communication skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
