The Payroll Officer is responsible for the delivery of high-quality payroll services and effectively and efficiently administering the end to end payroll process for RBGV in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.  The role is responsible for all payroll and HRIS functions for up to 250+ employees, along with reporting, processing statutory obligations and providing administrative support and advice.

Success Profile

  • 3+ years' experience in a relevant professional field.
  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing using in-house payroll/human resources computerised system.
  • Experience and proficiency in the use of Frontier Software payroll (chris21 or ichris) and employee self-service systems.
  • Ability to interpret and provide advice and support on relevant Enterprise Agreement, policies and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated sound working knowledge and experience in the application of relevant payroll functions, superannuation, taxation, and of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation, awards and policies including the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic) and Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).
  • Well-developed knowledge of, and ability to use computer applications including Microsoft packages with intermediate knowledge and experience with Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, in terms of providing Payroll advice, maintaining confidentiality where appropriate, and the ability communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to accurately process large volumes of work whilst meeting strict deadlines, taking a proactive, organised and effective approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with tact, discretion and diplomacy.
