Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is comprised of two significant sites: Melbourne Gardens, a world-renowned heritage landscape with a significant state-owned collection, much loved by Melburnians, and Cranbourne Gardens, a conservation and design site dedicated to Australian flora and fauna, including the internationally award-winning Australian Garden.  Together, the two sites provide extraordinary opportunities for community engagement and cultural expression, recreation, learning and participation, as well as Australian and Victorian tourism. The Visitor Experience Bookings Administrator is responsible for coordination of program bookings at Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria's Melbourne Gardens. This includes fielding telephone inquiries, direct liaison with visitors and visiting groups, invoicing and clear communication of needs within the Visitor Experience team.

Success Profile

  • Certificate IV in Business or equivalent 
  • Qualification in relevant tourism, hospitality or related customer front-line position and/or demonstrated professional experience in an administrative or office environment
  • Previous experience in administration of public programs in a similar environment, for example, museums, libraries, galleries, science, environment and/or heritage-focused organisation
  • Experience in bookings and financial management systems is essential
  • PRONTO (financial management) experience would be desirable
  • Demonstrated experience effectively liaising with a variety of external and internal stakeholders to deliver successful program outcomes for the RBGV
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully meet established customer service targets
  • Excellent data entry skills, with strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a positive and patient manner in dealings with customers 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously
  • Basic financial skills, with ability to analyse and present qualitative and quantitative program data
