Position Details

Ambulance Victoria's (AV) mission is to improve the health of our community by delivering innovative, high quality ambulance services in order to achieve Best Care for every patient, every time.  A new and exciting opportunity has just become available for a suitably qualified, professional candidate to join the Clinical Operations Division as an Executive Advisor.  Responsible for providing a range of high level executive, administrative, governance and project support including strategic advice, this is a full-time, ongoing position based at AV's Blackburn headquarters.

About the role

This role is responsible for providing effective and strategic generalist advice, governance and support to the Executive Director (ED) Clinical Operations and will include other main duties such as;

  • Preparing and coordinating briefing materials, reports, submissions and managing critical tasks and individual projects for the ED, Clinical Operations, whilst ensuring they are briefed on topical/significant issues;
  • Coordinating and undertaking a range of often complex or sensitive activities from internal and external sources, including research, analysis, stakeholder management and communications;  
  • Providing support on emergent issues directly to the ED whilst being cognisant of AV's political, social, commercial and industrial environment;
  • Representing the ED, as required, utilising formal and informal channels to influence;
  • Assisting the ED to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and influence stakeholders as required; and
  • Building a broad and robust network and lasting partnerships with senior management, stakeholders and colleagues across and external to AV.

About you

To be considered for this position, you will have demonstrated experience in providing high level advice to senior executives and key stakeholders.  You will be a born organiser, with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.  Coordinating, supporting and developing policies, programs and initiatives is your bread and butter and your knowledge and experience in governance is second to none.

Your strong communication skills, along with your experience in presenting complex information to different audiences, means that you will have no issues influencing and briefing high level stakeholders in a variety of forums.  Stepping up to represent the Executive Director as required is an opportunity you relish.

Finally, your strong analytical and business writing skills will ensure success in this role, as will your ability to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships. 

The salary range for this position is $132,395 through to $155,759 + 9.5% super.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required and undertake a National Police Check.
