Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. An exciting opportunity exists for an Operations Manager on a fixed term basis for a period of 12 months in the North West Metropolitan Region.

The Judy Lazarus Transition Centre (JLTC) is a minimum security facility that provides close monitoring and support of prisoners as they prepare to transition back into the community. The JLTC program is a targeted intervention designed to reduce re-offending through intensive case management and purposeful access to community based services, supports and experiences.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, JLTC the Operations Manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of the centre, including the provision of direct supervision to Transition Officers in both their case management and operational roles. As a leadership role this position will be required to develop and oversee operational policies and procedures that direct daily operations and allocate resources to ensure efficiency of services and effectively manage partnerships with community agencies and other relevant service providers.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • management experience - preferably in a correctional, residential or life skills program in a welfare or human service environment
  • knowledge of case management principles, theories and issues underpinning offending and effective interventions
  • effective leadership and people management skills.
