Position Details

We are building an inclusive workplace to help realise the potential of our employees, embrace our differences, and apply our diverse thinking to innovation and delivering services to Victorian communities. All jobs can be worked flexibly and we encourage job applications from Aboriginal people, people with disabilities, young people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has a vacancy to fill the position of Program Manager - Traditional Owner Agreements.  This is a key role in supporting a partnership approach for overseeing the implementation of DELWP's commitments associated with Recognition and Settlement Agreements between the State of Victoria and Traditional Owner Corporations in the Hume Region.

We require a committed individual to lead the development and implementation of a partnership approach to the Recognition and Settlement Agreements in the Hume Region, and the public land and natural resource management actions associated with those Agreements.

This role is a key point of liaison between DELWP and Traditional Owner Aboriginal Corporations, who together will define and realise what partnership means and looks like in practice, within the Hume Region.

The successful candidate will have a professional career to date that has seen them build strong, transformational and professional stakeholder relationships; and have had the full breadth and depth of experience in knowing how to engage with Aboriginal people in a culturally appropriate way.

You are a highly motivated and responsive person with excellent project management skills and public land management experience who is a proactive and innovative self-starter with excellent communication, facilitation and relationship building skills.

You are extremely comfortable working with uncertainty to begin with, and you will exercise courage and resilience especially during the initial phase. Your personal resilience has been well developed in previous roles that has led you to be known for your professional integrity.  All that you do will be underpinned by your exceptional ability to be highly organised.

This is an ongoing position.

To be considered for this position, your application should include a supporting statement demonstrating that you meet the key selection criteria and any job requirements specified in the position description.

Applications close at midnight, Sunday 28 July 2019.
