Position Details

The Senior Advisor is responsible for leading the business operations and strategic advice and coordination functions of the Office of the Executive Director Policy and Planning Division.

The Senior Advisor is a key leadership position within the Policy and Planning Division and will work closely with the Policy and Planning Division Executive Director, executive team and their staff to help them achieve strategic and operational objectives and deliver on position requirements.

As a reliable and affiliative leader with your finger on the pulse, you have the ability to bring together information from a range of sources and apply sharp acumen and strong communication skills in presenting it as high-quality advice. You have experience analysing, interpreting and briefing on complex policy issues and juggling priorities and competing demands where there are high levels of uncertainty. Your excellent interpersonal skills will see you work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple areas of the organisation and you will have experience leading and managing a small team with a focus on process improvement.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A degree relevant to public policy, government administration, business management, natural environment is desirable.
  • Understands complex issues and their implications and applies those skills to a public policy context.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
