Position Details

The Loddon Mallee Region, Natural Environment Program (NEP) team is excited to welcome a suitably qualified and experienced officer to join our dedicated and high-performing team. Through preparation of environmental, biodiversity and statutory risk management advice, this role supports Government priorities across the region, extending from Mildura to Gisborne.

We are looking for someone with experience in biodiversity policy, native vegetation removal regulation and biodiversity risk management. Your excellent problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills will be essential as you work closely with other DEECA divisions and groups, local government, and stakeholders. Your focus on outcomes and ability to prioritise efforts to minimise risk to Victoria's environment, while supporting priority projects and programs in the Loddon Mallee Region will be highly valued.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification related to natural resource management and or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply environmental and biodiversity assessment processes, focused on biodiversity risk management, native vegetation policy, and related legislation.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within the Loddon Mallee Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
