The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has a requirement to fill a vacant position for a Coastal Projects Officer to deliver of coastal adaptation projects and asset maintenance.

This position will work alongside Statewide Coastal Programs team to ensure the consistent, integrated, and efficient delivery coastal adaptation projects to respond to coastal hazards and deliver projects to maintain, upgrade and replace coastal protection assets using a strategic, risk-based prioritisation process .

Underpinning all the skills that you have, is an exceptional ability to work collaboratively with others. You can form and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders as you support the delivery of state-wide strategies to protect the coast. Your exceptional stakeholder engagement, resilience and negotiation skills will be utilised as you navigate complex issues, conversations, expectations and the general demands and priorities of the role.

You will be joining a dynamic team, with a flexible and supportive culture and will have volumes of emotional intelligence as you apply your knowledge to enhance Victoria's coasts, whilst supporting the state of Victoria and Victorians.

The Land and Built Environment Programs Branch works collaboratively with the Statewide Coastal Programs team to deliver coastal adaptation projects and implement a Statewide risk-based approach to maintain, upgrade, and replace coastal protection assets that aligns with the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) and meets the needs of Victoria's coastal communities.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2023. The location of this position is Port Phillip.
