Position Details

The Land & Built Environment Program Officer (Coastal Projects) will work as part of a regional Land and Built Environment team to collaborate with the Statewide Coastal Programs team and other regions within the Forest, Fire and Regions Group to deliver coastal adaptation projects.

The Land & Built Environment Program Officer (Coastal Projects) will implement a strategic, risk-based approach to respond to coastal hazards, including the maintenance, upgrading and replacement of coastal protection assets and other measures such as sand nourishment and nature-based methods.

The role will also provide support to coastal land managers to ensure a portfolio approach to coastal protection, implementing asset management practices that align with the DELWP Coastal Protection Asset Management plan and Victoria's Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF).

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in marine and coastal science, environmental science or natural resource management is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience of coastal engineering skills or related technical skills is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following fields is essential: marine and coastal management, procurement, construction and contract management, asset management or program management.
  • An appropriate qualification in asset management and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Port Phillip region with hybrid work arrangements available.
