We are seeking a Senior Policy Officer with good project management and high-level communication skills to manage the final stages of implementation of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan water trading rules. You will be involved in developing innovative policies to support Victorian water resource management and to further develop Victoria's water market, while ensuring that Victoria achieves compliance with chapter 12 of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.

You will be responsible for managing the program of work involved, including liaising with Victoria's water corporations, the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, other jurisdictions and key stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to learn from a high-performing team with subject matter expertise in natural resource management, water markets and interstate water sharing arrangements, and water resources policy.

An appropriate tertiary qualification in natural resource management, economics, science, engineering or other relevant disciplines is highly desirable and a sound understanding of Victoria's water entitlement framework and water markets would be well regarded.

This is a fixed term position for 24 months.
