Position Details
The Senior Policy Officer (Waterways Monitoring and Research) presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of technical projects within the Victorian Waterways Program. This role is part of a small, supportive, and flexible team that spans multiple policy and program areas, all focused on the stewardship of Victoria's rivers, wetlands, and estuaries.
The successful applicant will support the Victorian Waterway Management Program by:
- Developing and Leading complex technical projects to fulfill strategic knowledge requirements.
- Providing leadership, analysis, and technical expertise to enhance monitoring and research methodologies.
- Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and researchers
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Required: a degree qualification, or higher, in natural resource management, environmental science or similar (or comparable experience).
- Thorough knowledge of aquatic ecology and experience in monitoring the health of aquatic ecosystems, particularly estuaries.
- Experience analysing, synthesizing, and communicating environmental monitoring data.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
