Position Details

The Senior Economic Policy Officer will work as part of a high performing team to deliver a number of projects designed to improve building outcomes for the industry, practitioners and consumers, including a focus on cladding-related policy issues.

This work includes preparing and supporting economic policy monitoring and analysis to informthe development and recommendation of policy options, preparing advice on required legislative changes, preparing briefings and correspondence for Ministers and executives, and influencing and negotiating across a wide range of government, industry and consumer stakeholders to gain agreement to proposals to achieve effective building policy and regulatory outcomes.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in economics or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of policy initiatives and projects in a State or Commonwealth public service setting is highly desirable.

This isa fixed term position available until 30 June 2021.
