About the Department

Position purpose

This position provides high level executive support to the Chief Executive Officer, Solar Victoria. The position requires the incumbent to demonstrate high level inter-personal and stakeholder management skills, including the capacity to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer.  They will also be required to develop effective working relationships across DELWP, metropolitan and regional offices and with other Groups within the Department.  They must also demonstrate high quality executive and administrative support, management of services for complex office support, correspondence and record keeping, as well as administering policies, procedures and protocols. 

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work. 

Accountabilities

• Provide high-level confidential secretarial and executive support functions to the Chief Executive Officer

• Screen and attend to a broad range of confidential and sensitive enquiries, which include telephone requests, diary management and ensure appropriate follow up

• Prepare correspondence, briefings, reports and presentations by researching and investigating sensitive issues and enquiries

• Act as primary point of liaison with senior stakeholders within the public sector and industry on important matters associated with Solar Victoria's activities

• Develop improved work practices to achieve efficient and effective support services

• Develop and build strong relationships with senior executive support staff across Solar Victoria and DELWP, by providing professional development through mentoring and information sharing

• Supervise administrative staff in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer

• Adopt and apply OH&S policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment 

Specialist/Technical Expertise

• Proven ability to operate effectively within a confidential work environment for a senior executive office within Government 

This is a fixed term position for a period of 12 months.
