  • Develop and deliver policies and programs to improve economic, social and sustainability outcomes from Victoria's waste and resource recovery sector and broader economy.
  • Lead rigorous research and analysis to support robust, evidence-based policy.
  • Provide expert, authoritative and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders, including ministerial offices, colleagues across government and external organisations on waste and resource recovery policies.
  • Initiate, maintain and strengthen portfolio and stakeholder relationships including with the EPA, Sustainability Victoria, waste and resource recovery groups, other departments, the waste industry and environment groups.
  • Communicate effectively to engage our team, build shared understanding with our stakeholders and collaborate with our colleagues on policies and programs.
  • Negotiate and resolve complex policy and program implementation issues with stakeholders and project partners and ensure Victorian government programs are aligned with government policy.
  • Contribute to a constructive culture within the branch, led by example, and demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues and the ability to work effectively under limited supervision.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months.
