The Communications and Strategic Engagement position is a key role in the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Energy.


  • Establish, manage and support an external advisory body tasked with proving expert Energy advice to DELWP and Government.  
  • Proactively and strategically identify stakeholders relevant to the work being undertaken within the Energy Group and identify opportunities for engagement with the Energy Group.
  • Manage internal communications and coordination
  • Support collaboration and improve awareness of the Energy Group through internal and external web and other digital platforms; Deputy Secretary communication and engagement and; development and promotion of Energy Group strategic communication.
  • Effectively manage engagement, communication and other projects as required
  • Establish objectives, scope, governance, resourcing and effective implementation of project
  • Manage appropriate procurement process for all expenditure
  • Initiate and maintain strong effective working relationships with executives and managers across the Department and key Stakeholders.
  • Provide support to team members through the drafting of briefs and other communications to inform Government of the latest activities and communications within the Energy Sector.
  • Support the Deputy Secretary, Energy and Head of Office to ensure the effective delivery of strategic business, operational and culture improvement priorities for the Energy Group.

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the division.
