We are building an inclusive workplace to help realise the potential of our employees, embrace our differences, and apply our diverse thinking to innovation and delivering services to Victorian communities. The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has a requirement to fill a vacancy for a Program Manager – Permissions Delivery role within the Office of the Conservation Regulator (OCR).  The OCR is accountable for the delivery of DELWP's direct regulatory responsibilities in timber harvesting, biodiversity, fire prevention and public land use. The OCR's mission is to be an effective, trusted, best practice regulator – increasing transparency, improving relationships and regulatory capability to deliver on regulatory outcomes.

Regulatory permissions (licences, permits and authorities) are a key tool of the OCR to clarify regulatory obligations and to limit the conduct of high-risk activities. The Program Manager - Permissions Delivery plays a key role in driving and coordinating the use of permissions and the implementation of reform in the administration and application of permissions. The Program Manager - Permissions Delivery will work closely with the Program Manager - Permissions Reform to identify opportunities for permissions reform and to assist in the design of reforms which can then be effectively implemented.

Our preferred candidate will have excellent knowledge of the use and administration of regulatory permissions.

You are able to apply exceptional high-level external stakeholder engagement skills. You are a resilient individual - self-motivated and pro-active – and can apply critical thinking and strategic skills to your work.

Underpinning your exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, you also have influencing skills and know how to apply these to form and maintain positive, ongoing and professional working relationships. You manage such communication with key people with ease.

You have a work style that naturally lends itself to contributing to an inclusive workplace culture that is collaborative, professional and engaged. You want to contribute to and be a part of a high performing team. Your exceptional stakeholder engagement, resilience and negotiation skills will be utilised as you navigate complex issues, conversations, expectations and the general demands and priorities of the role.

This is a fixed term position available until 21 October 2021.

To be considered for this position, your application should include a supporting statement demonstrating that you meet the key selection criteria and any job requirements specified in the position description.

Applications close at midnight, Sunday 29 September 2019.
