The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has a requirement to fill a vacancy for a Program Manager – Stakeholder Engagement within the Office of the Conservation Regulator (OCR).  The OCR and is accountable for the delivery of DELWP's direct regulatory responsibilities in timber harvesting, biodiversity, fire prevention and public land use regulation. The OCR's mission is to be an effective, trusted, best practice regulator – increasing transparency, improving relationships and regulatory capability to deliver on regulatory outcomes.

The Program Manager - Stakeholder Engagement leads and coordinates stakeholder engagement strategy and actions for the Chief Conservation Regulator. Working in partnership with staff across the OCR and in DELWP's regions, the Program Manager ensures that the OCR has the right settings and practices to build trusting and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities include ensuring the effective implementation of OCR's Engagement Strategy and leading support to the Chief Conservation Regulator's Stakeholder Reference Group.

To be successful in this role you have both had a career to date, and are a subject matter expert in, developing company-wide or divisional wide stakeholder engagement strategies. You are very adept at providing strategic and practical advice and guidance to staff on identifying, engaging and managing program stakeholders and managing conflict.

You are a resilient individual - self-motivated and pro-active – and can apply critical thinking and strategic skills to your work. You can deliver on expectations and create a positive and productive environment that influences the team and the role's outcomes.

You are able to apply exceptionally high-level external stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with our external community partners to support the development of strong and effective relationships. In particular, you are adept at identifying a range of issues, managing competing needs and identifying commonalities to build mutually beneficial partnerships.

Underpinning your exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, you also have strong influencing skills and know how to apply these to form and maintain positive, ongoing and professional working relationships, and build buy-in. You manage such communication with key people with ease.
