An exciting opportunity exists to join the Office of the Conservation Regulator (OCR) within the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) as a Manager, Regulatory Operations for the Grampians Region. The OCR and is accountable for the delivery of DELWP's direct regulatory responsibilities in timber harvesting, biodiversity, fire prevention and public land use regulation. The OCR's mission is to be an effective, trusted, best practice regulator – increasing transparency, improving relationships and regulatory capability to deliver on regulatory outcomes.

The Regional Manager, Regulatory Operations leads a regional team that works with co-regulators, related entities and the community to improve compliance consistent with the Office of the Conservation Regulators risk based, intelligence lead approach to environmental compliance.

The Regulatory Operations teams undertake education activities, audits, inspections and patrols to support compliance with the law. The team's operations focus on preventing breaches of the law as well as taking compliance and enforcement action as required.

To be successful in this role, you are a seasoned leader of people and operational programs and able to immediately apply your technical subject matter expertise and people management skills in forming, developing and mentoring the team to achieve OCR objectives for the Grampians Region.

You are able to apply exceptional high-level external stakeholder engagement skills, to support the collaborative, intelligence-led and integrated delivery of a regulatory strategy for the department and to the community. Particularly you are adept at identifying issues in common for one or more stakeholders and you use these to build mutually beneficial partnerships.

Underpinning your exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, you also have influencing skills and know how to apply these to form and maintain positive, ongoing and professional working relationships. You manage such communication with key people with ease.
