The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has a requirement to fill an Engagement Officer vacancy within the Office of the Conservation Regulator (OCR).  The OCR is accountable for the delivery of DELWP's regulatory responsibilities in timber harvesting, biodiversity, fire prevention and public land use. The OCR's mission is to be an effective, trusted, best practice regulator – increasing transparency, improving relationships and regulatory capability to deliver on regulatory outcomes.

The Engagement Officer supports the delivery of high-quality communication and engagement strategies and activities for the Office of the Chief Conservation Regulator. With a focus on forestry, the Engagement Officer will work across the Office of the Conservation Regulator (OCR) to provide advice and direction to internal stakeholders, and engaging with external stakeholders to build and maintain strong working relationships.

The role will assist the Program Manager, Stakeholder Engagement by ensuring the objectives and priorities of the OCR are clearly communicated. The role will identify emerging complex or highly sensitive issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and contribute to developing innovative solutions and options.

The successful candidate has previously supported the implementation of regional communications and media relations activities, has demonstrated experience in media liaison, internal communications, events, website management and social media content development. We require a candidate who can use their strong relationship building skills to support the division in achieving its operational objectives and priorities.

You will bring solid self-management capabilities, be a team-oriented employee, have volumes of energy and professional enthusiasm that will lead you to demonstrate the required initiative and flexibility.

This is a fixed term position available until 21 October 2021.
