The Senior Investigator Recreation is a member of a specialist team planning and leading investigations of alleged offences against legislation administered by this department. The position is responsible for promoting safe and sustainable recreational access to public land and providing advice on recreational activities on public land.

The Senior Investigator coordinates the implementation of the ‘trail bike rider safety initiative', a partnership between the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and DELWP that promotes safe off-road motorcycle riding through delivery of education and support of compliance operations. This role also oversees coordination of DELWP's bike rider accreditation program in line with policy and procedures.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of land, environmental regulation and road safety is essential.
  • An appropriate qualification in investigations either Diploma of Government Investigations or Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or approved equivalent would be desirable.
  • A demonstrated, in-depth understanding of Victoria's environmental or road safety legislation is highly desirable. 

This is an ongoing position located flexibly within Knoxfield.
