Position Details

The Senior Planner is part of a team in the Development Approvals and Design Branch, responsible for providing statutory planning services to deliver the Minister for Planning's responsibilities in relation to the assessment of planning permit applications and other statutory requirements. The position provides planning assessments for development approvals with a specific focus on the statutory responsibility of managing all aspects of planning permit applications. The Senior Planner provides advice on issues, options and solutions within a functional area of responsibility and will foster effective partnerships and networks with peers and stakeholders.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and significant experience in urban planning or related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in all statutory planning permit and development processes (including Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Planning and Environment List and planning panels matters) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and managing complex and/or strategically significant development proposals within a Victorian state or local government context is an advantage.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2024.
