Position Details

The Project Officer position will provide a wide range of program support including coordination, financial management, budget monitoring and reporting for DELWP-wide enterprise initiatives to support the outcomes of a whole of government reform program and realise the benefits of the department's new transformation program. Operating as a cross-functional, Agile team, this role will operate collaboratively with program management and senior stakeholders in Corporate services to strengthen financial management capabilities and meet overall program monitoring and budget control objectives.

The successful applicant will support the delivery of multiple enterprise-wide transformation programs. They will have strong and clear communications skills and effectively maintain relationships with key stakeholders while ensuring the Transformation DELWP Team's objectives are met.

Along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as our ideal candidate you will have:

Data analysis and project financial management skills and be able to practice agile ways of working
Good stakeholder management skills in this forward-thinking state government transformation team.
Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic agile environment that is subject to a fast pace of change.
Demonstrate agile, flexible and collaborative work practices to deliver Business unit, Group and DELWP priorities and initiatives as required.
You have a consultative approach in your work. You are self-motivated to initiate your work, guide team members in delivering results, and contribute to a positive and collaborative culture in the workplace. As priorities change you can flexibly ‘change gears' to accommodate and can stay focused if such changes occur.

Underpinning all the data analysis, financial skills that you have, you have an exceptional ability to work collaboratively with program owners and executive directors across DELWP. You can form and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders as you work towards the delivery of initiatives. Your exceptional stakeholder engagement, resilience and negotiation skills will be utilised as you navigate.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated financial experience, preferably in a public sector finance function, is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a budget is required
  • Demonstrated project coordination experience is desirable

This is a fixed term position available up until December 2022.
