Position Details

The Victorian Government is working with Victorians to make better use of natural resources to reduce waste and tackle pollution by delivering a suite of reforms and exciting programs as part of our circular economy policy Recycling Victoria: A new economy

We're looking for a talented individual who enjoys a fast paced and varied environment to join our dedicated and supportive team. You'll have the opportunity to lead and work on important and high-profile policy issues with a dedicated group of colleagues and play a vital role in changing how we tackle plastic pollution here in Victoria.

As a key member of the Waste and Recycling Division, the Program Lead will lead the delivery of a program of work to phase out and ban single-use plastic items, along with supporting the delivery of broader policy and programs to improve economic, social and sustainability outcomes from Victoria's waste and recycling sector and broader economy.

You will be a self-starter, with a keen eye for risks and strategic opportunities. You will also have outstanding program delivery, policy, and stakeholder management skills.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate qualification in public policy, science, economics, law or equivalent is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience and / or knowledge of public policy development and the regulatory process is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in project or program management is highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2023.
