Position Details

The Principal Policy Officer, Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) Policy plays a key role in the newly established VicGrid Division. Reporting to the Manager, Renewable Energy Zones Policy, this position develops well analysed policy options, and provides expert and clearly articulated advice to contribute to the successful establishment of REZs in Victoria.

The Principal Policy Officer's strong policy background, and considerable Government experience, sees them working both autonomously and with other members of the team to develop policy that makes a real difference. The Principal Policy Officer works with a range of internal and external key stakeholders to build constructive relationships, foster collaboration and deliver results.

VicGrid Division is a supportive team focused on developing the transmission grid of the future for Victoria in a fast-paced environment. The work is complex, high priority and high impact, with strategic transmission development being crucial for Victoria's transition to renewable energy.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification is required.
  • Experience working in a senior policy role within government would be highly valued.
  • Energy sector experience would be highly regarded.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2024.
