Position Details
The First Peoples Energy branch are seeking a motivated individual with strong organisational, project management and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively and flexibly as a key team member to join the crew as a Project Officer.
The Project Officer will be responsible for delivering grant programs to Traditional Owner Corporations (TOC) and First Peoples communities, prioritising Offshore Wind Programs in the first instance. The role supports the First Peoples Energy branch to perform advisory functions for enriching TOCs and First Peoples community engagement and partnership outcomes, supporting the Energy group's commitments to recognise and invest in First Peoples projects and aspirations for renewable energy, as well as Pupangarli Marnmarnepu; DELWP's Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy.
The successful candidate will build effective relationships across the Department, the energy sector, other government agencies, TOCs and First Peoples communities with demonstrable skills, experience and knowledge of Aboriginal culture and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal Victorians today, as well as project or program delivery capability to support the delivery of culturally informed government programs and services.
An understanding of Victoria's energy sector, and/or experience in grants management is also desirable.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge of Aboriginal culture and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal Victorians today to deliver culturally informed government programs and services is required.
- Experience in project management or program delivery is highly desirable.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 Months. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne, with hybrid work arrangements available.
