Position Details

The Senior Policy Officer leads research, analysis and policy projects that contribute to the state's transition to renewable energy and net zero emissions, with a focus on developing large-scale renewable energy generation and zero emissions firming capacity, such as long duration storage, in Victoria.

The Senior Policy Officer has strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop well-considered and fit-for-purpose policies and plans. The position leads or contributes to complex policy and regulatory projects including providing accurate and authoritative advice to senior decision makers. 

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate Tertiary qualification(s) in public policy, economics, engineering, legal or other relevant area is desired, with experience in government or a relevant energy related field being an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience in energy policy and/or energy markets is desirable.  

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
