Position Details

The Regulatory Strategy Officer supports the delivery of the Timber Harvesting Regulatory Strategy program, with a focus on supporting strategic compliance and enforcement, development of guidance and advice on compliance with the forest regulatory framework, and strategic communication with regulated entities.

This role will also assist with legislative and policy reform matters, stakeholder engagement, and administration of timber harvesting permissions.

About you:

  • You will be an enthusiastic and motivated person, who is committed to the Conservation Regulator's aim of being a trusted, effective, best-practice regulator, and shares an interest in achieving the best possible environmental, community and regulatory outcomes.
  • Desirable experience includes environmental regulation, studies in forest science or ecology, a legal or policy background, and/or any other roles involving strategic decision-making, negotiation or critical thinking. 

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2023.
