Position Details

The Senior Project Officer will coordinate the delivery of the Environmental Management Masterplan for the Moolap Wetlands and Former Saltworks, as part of the implementation of the Moolap Coastal Strategic Framework Plan and contribute to priorities of the Major Projects branch. This role will be required to successfully manage the project team's actions, consultant procurement and delivery, coordinate sensitive community and stakeholder engagement, coordinate governance groups and prepare status reports and Ministerial briefings. The role will demonstrate high level project management skills with initiative and experience to undertake evidence based research, conceptual thinking, and options analysis to inform stakeholders and the final deliverables.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in project management, planning, environmental science/management, social sciences, economics, engineering, architecture or landscape design, is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering, or taking a leading role in delivery of, a complex environmental, land management, infrastructure or planning related projects, managing project teams and project governance in the public or private sectors is required.
  • Knowledge of key government legislation, policies and strategies on land use planning, environmental science/management, coastal processes, or public land management is desired.

This is a fixed term position available until 4 December 2023. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
