Position Details

2 x positions available within the Hume region!

The Forest Management Planning Officer is part of the Forest and Fire Planning Team within the Hume Forest and Fire Operations Division.

As the Forest Management Planning Officer, you will support the development of key planning processes and frameworks for the development of the Hume Forest Management Plan. This includes refining planning frameworks, systems and processes to meet regional and state objectives; coordinating and overseeing several developmental aspects of the Hume Forest Management Plan; contributing to the development of state-wide planning products; undertaking regional stakeholder communication and engagement and supporting the Program Manager, Forest Management Planning.

The Forest Management Planning Officer will work collaboratively across the Hume region, building relationships and robust partnerships. The position requires strategic planning and critical thinking skills, project planning and delivery experience, as well as strong collaboration skills to build respectful relationships and partnerships, as well as a shared understanding of management planning processes.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in public policy, science, natural resource or environmental management or similar is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing planning frameworks and processes for natural resource management is desirable.  

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2024. The location for this position is negotiable within the Hume region.
