Position Details

The Senior Advisor, Workplace Relations and Investigations role will provide authoritative advice and support to managers and staff on a wide range of employee-related and investigations matters. The role will support the Principal Advisor, Workplace Relations and Investigations in leading key initiatives for the continuous improvement of departmental employee-related practices and assist in developing workplace relations and investigations strategies that help to enable the department to fulfil its objectives.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Relevant industrial relations and/ or human resource management tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Extensive experience in Human Resources Management with a particular focus on operational Industrial and Employee Relations and Investigations. A demonstrated understanding of investigation techniques and principles, ideally involving misconduct matters is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide specialist advice to managers on industrial relations and staff employment issues. In providing this advice the occupant will need to possess detailed operational knowledge of employment law, including relevant federal and state legislation (e.g., Fair Work Act and OHS Act). A detailed understanding of Government policy regarding Enterprise Bargaining processes is also desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 6 months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
