Position Details

Key workstreams include:

  • Contributing to the Safe Building Ventilation Program, which supports the Government's COVID-19 response by supporting safe ventilation settings for sensitive public settings. This work includes leading and contributing to strategic advice to support a number of whole-of-government work streams; and
  • Researching issues with insolvency across the sector, including payments to subcontractors through Security of Payment Act arrangements.

This work includes developing and recommending policy options, preparing advice on required operational or legislative changes, preparing briefings and correspondence for Ministers and executives, as well as influencing and negotiating across a wide range of government and industry stakeholders to gain agreement to proposals to achieve effective building policy and regulatory outcomes.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Experience in the development of policy, governance and project management particularly in a planning or a building related field, is desirable. Tertiary qualification in law, public policy, economics or a related discipline would be highly regarded.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2023.
