Position Details

The Operational Improvement & Reform Program Manager will work in a small core team within a dynamic and flexible environment focused on client needs, innovation and accountability and lead or contribute to virtual project teams based on an internal consultancy model. The position will be a senior role within the Taskforce that works collaboratively with others to develop information, advice, processes, and systems to deliver operational improvement and reform, including the preparation of advice on policy and process matters, development of internal operational doctrine and change management.

The role will also be responsible for maintaining appropriate oversight of the OI&R program, high standard project delivery and quality assurance, and facilitating fit-for-purpose governance.

The role will develop and maintain strong relationships with DELWP's existing program management experts and identify opportunities to pilot new approaches and support capability uplift in modern program management approaches.

The position offers an opportunity for a high-performing program manager to work in a fast-paced environment on a broad range of topics that make a difference to Victoria environmentally, culturally, economically, and socially. 

Reporting to the Executive Director Operational Improvement & Reform, this position requires demonstrated experience in overseeing diverse projects and initiatives in the public or private sectors through activist, agile and adaptive program management approaches.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Suitable qualification or demonstrated experience in Program Management, particularly agile and adaptive program management approaches, is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the management of an improvement and reform program, oversighting and coordinating projects, problem analysis, and development and management of program governance in the public or private sectors
  • Demonstrated experience leading the successful delivery of people-centred change management activities in complex organisational reform programs

This is a fixed term position available until 1 February 2023. The location for this position is negotiable within Victoria.
