Position Details

We are looking for and someone to join our team to implement Aboriginal cultural safety training initiatives.

This role is for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants and will sit in our Aboriginal employment and cultural strategy team.

This role supports the ongoing implementation of Pupangarli Marnmarnepu: Owning Our Future Aboriginal Self-Determination Strategy 2020 – 2025, connecting Aboriginal employees and community to DELWP's self-determination vision.

  • In this role you will deliver high priority projects and programs that contribute to:
  • building the cultural capability of all staff, with specialized training for all DELWP employees
  • a high-quality learning and development program that addresses priority capability needs for the Department's workforce.

This is designated position under s.12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of current challenges, issues, opportunities and community aspirations amongst Aboriginal Victorian communities.
  • Extensive experience in facilitation, using knowledge of cultural and communication sensitivities.
  • Capability development - demonstrated experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of innovative learning and organisational development programs and initiatives that achieve business objectives.
  • An appropriate qualification in a field such as learning and development, organisational development, education or a related discipline, (or working towards one) will be highly desirable but not essential.
