Position Details

The Cyber Security Program is a 2-3year program to implement the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and supports the remediation of cyber security risks in the department.  The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery process for Cyber Security Program through to business deployment of various solutions and supporting the change to the business. The Project Manager will establish and manage the project objectives; define the project plan; identify and manage resource requirements and manage scope and risk. The Project Manager is also responsible for supporting change management strategies and plans that enable employee adoption of the new solution.

The Project Manager may be required to support new or additional projects within the ISD portfolio over time. This will be based on business priorities and in agreement with the Director, Project Delivery and the Program Director Cyber Security.

Key to success in this role is excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills; proven consulting capability and leadership ability; highly developed conceptual, analytical, interpersonal skills; and excellent communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills. The role requires an ability to adapt these to a diverse range of stakeholders and contexts.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Significant business project delivery experience with demonstrated completion of large/complex cyber security projects is highly desirable.
  • A well-developed knowledge of the legislative and policy framework that directs the management and response to cyber security in Victoria.
  • A good understanding of the structure and objectives of the VPDSF, VPDSS, Essential 8 and the NIST Cyber security Framework would also be beneficial but is not a mandatory requirement and can be learned on the job.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
