Position Details

Do you want to contribute to the exciting work of Victoria's energy transition?

These two Senior Policy Officer roles will offer you the opportunity to shape energy safety policy for the state. You will help ensure Victoria's transition to renewable energy - away from fossil fuels - is safe. You will work in a collaborative, dynamic and creative team, managing multiple strategic projects with limited supervision. You will also work on governance of Energy Safe Victoria, as the policy team also has an important governance function.

You may have a background in safety policy and reform; and/or governance. You may have worked on energy or other utilities, or other aspects of natural resource and environmental policy. The energy transition needs a broad range of skills and experience, so please get in touch if you want to learn more or discuss your suitability for the role.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification(s) including qualification(s) in science, engineering, law, economics, public policy or similar (desirable).
  • A sound understanding of and experience in the public sector, including knowledge and experience with the structure of government and its regulatory and policy decision-making processes (desirable).
  • Understanding of the Victorian energy sector including the frameworks governing electricity, solar and gas networks (desirable). 

These are ongoing positions. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
