Position Details

The Stakeholder and Community Engagement Manager supports the State Electricity Commission (SEC) Implementation Office Leadership Team within the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action to develop and implement innovative, high-quality, effective and appropriate engagement activities with a view to informing the most effective approaches to enable the SEC Implementation Office to deliver on its objectives. The position will lead the engagement activities for the SEC Implementation Office across Gippsland and will also contribute to other activities across Victoria as required.

Working in partnership with key stakeholders across all levels of government, industry, community organisations and members, the Stakeholder and Community Engagement Manager ensures that the SEC Implementation Office is connected with the right stakeholders and the community and has the right settings and practices to build trusting and collaborative working relationships.

Specific responsibilities include providing strategic advice on emerging stakeholder and community needs and issues, coordinating stakeholder engagement activities for the SEC Implementation Office, representing the SEC at regional industry and community events, and providing a single point of contact for industry and community into the SEC Implementation Office.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • A strong background in stakeholder engagement with demonstrated success in developing and implementing engagement strategies, plans and activities.
  • Experience and/or strong interest and knowledge of the renewables energy and/or skills and training sector.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary level qualification in communications/engagement or another field relevant to the role (e.g., energy or renewables) would be highly regarded.
  • Established connections with the Gippsland energy stakeholders would be highly regarded.
  • Experience working in government.
  • Completion of the IAP2 Certificate in Engagement.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 years. The work location for this position is Morwell, with hybrid work arrangements available.
