Position Details
We are looking for an energetic team player to support Agriculture Policy and Programs to deliver several high priority climate change policy projects aimed at reducing emissions, leveraging industry action, and increasing national coordination in the agriculture sector.
The Policy Analyst will be responsible for policy analysis and research, supporting project management and the preparation of advice to executive management and Ministers with a specific focus on emissions policy and support for national coordination.
The successful candidate will have:
- Policy experience and a sound knowledge of climate change policy and/or emissions management.
- Strong analytical skills and policy experience in researching and developing policy recommendations on complex issues with a diverse range of stakeholders, often under tight timeframes.
- Organisational and project management skills, and the interpersonal skills required to represent the department in forums and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Writing coordination, and project management skills.
- Experience or knowledge of agricultural industries would be highly regarded.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Tertiary education in any of the following fields would be well regarded: economics, climate change policy or science, agriculture or public policy.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 July 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
