The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Engineering and Program Services, the Director, Engineering is responsible for the delivery of the engineering process associated with the definition, scope and implementation of the VicGrid's energy infrastructure. The role provides expert technical direction and advice to support Project Directors and Project Managers on a broad range of engineering matters associated with VicGrid projects.
Playing a key leadership role, the Director Engineering leads a team of highly skilled and diverse technical professionals across design, engineering contract management, design integration and systems architecture.

What you will deliver
- You will lead a team of diverse resources to ensure that quality and timely technical advice and support is provided to VicGrid's projects.
- You will lead and direct engineering and design processes, to ensure that project objectives are achieved within the design and cost parameters established in the business case.
- You will ensure that detailed design management procedures and processes are established and maintained including design budget and cost control, programs, management plans and processes and procedures.
- You will identify, procure and manage external engineering services and expertise as needed to meet the requirements of VicGrid's program of work.
What you will bring
- Extensive experience in direction and providing engineering advise on the technical and operational aspects of the development and design of complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical expertise in infrastructure design and design management, including a strong understanding of design and engineering issues through all phases of the construction project life cycle.
- A relevant qualification in Engineering or Science related discipline is mandatory.
- Victorian Professional Engineering Registration or credentials that allow for a successful application of the REPV are mandatory.
