The Opportunity
The Director, Project Controls reports to the Executive Director, Project Delivery and is responsible for overseeing a team of project controls specialists.
The Director, Project Controls will support the development and delivery phase of VicGrid's transmission infrastructure projects, providing advice and guidance to project teams in the key areas of planning, program, risk and utilities management. This role will also be responsible for the amalgamation of VicGrid's project reporting, enabling the supply of reports to relevant government departments.

What you will deliver
- You will support the delivery of VicGrid's program of work to ensure development and delivery is within specified scope, time and budget.
- You will lead and provide expert direction to a team of specialists ensuring best practice in utilities management, enabling VicGrid project teams to meet contract and asset management standards and expectations.
- You will lead the management of the functional teams responsible for program and planning, risk and opportunity, and utilities management, within a matrix structure.
- You will lead a team responsible for managing and amalgamating all VicGrid's project reporting, to enable various reports to be supplied to various government departments.
What you will bring
- Strong understanding of planning and scheduling, risk and issues management and how this integrates with cost control in the context of a major project delivery environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide clear, authoritative and effective advice to senior government decision makers on complex issues in a politically sensitive arena.
- Extensive senior leadership experience in the delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects, including utilities and asset management, planning and scheduling, and risk management.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline is required.
