Position Details

Use your high-level policy and data analysis skills to help Victoria reach net zero emissions.

The Climate Action Strategy branch is seeking an experienced policy professional to provide high level analysis of data and modelling on Victoria's emissions and emissions reduction opportunities. This position will provide you with the opportunity to help drive forward the Victorian Government's ambitious climate action agenda and deliver the next stage of Victoria's transition to net zero emissions.

You will be an integral part of the team that is developing long-term emissions reduction planning, Victoria's next climate action strategy, and providing advice on Victoria's climate action targets.

To be successful in this position you will have demonstrated high level policy skills, including stakeholder management, and experience in using data to inform policy advice. You will have proven ability to think critically, build support and achieve outcomes. You will have a flexible and responsive attitude to your work.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Experience in undertaking complex policy analysis and providing high level policy advice is desirable
  • Experience undertaking engagement with stakeholders across government, industry and the community on complex policy issues is desirable
  • Knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions, energy or econometric analysis is desirable.
  • Tertiary qualification(s) including post-graduate qualification(s) in the physical or social sciences, engineering, natural resource management, data science, mathematics, statistics, business analysis, humanities or a related field is desirable.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 September 2025. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
