As the Senior Project Officer – Enabling Aboriginal Self-Determination, you will drive the implementation of key projects supporting DEECA's approach to Aboriginal Self Determination through the implementation of Pupangarli Marnmarnepu ‘Owning Our Future' – Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy 2020-2025. Accountabilities of this role will include, leading and managing projects that advance Aboriginal Self-Determination initiatives within DEECA, providing leadership when working with all DEECA portfolios to deliver projects that advance Aboriginal Self-Determination, develop briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for discussion and consideration contributing to appropriate decision making, facilitate effective communication and engagement with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their perspectives are integrated into DEECA's Self-Determination initiatives and to practice cultural safety by creating environments, relationships and systems free from racism and discrimination. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Victorian Aboriginal cultures and societies and ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people.
- Advanced computer skills with an ability to use a range of software including excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and internal programs specific to government
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
