Position Details
In this exciting and challenging role, you will support and enable the self-determination reform agenda across DEECA through the implementation of Pupangarli Marnmarnepu ‘Owning Our Future' – Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy 2020-2025. Accountabilities of this role will include, supporting the delivery of DEECA's accountability mechanisms with Traditional Owners including supporting the Office of the Executive Director and broader division to partner with all DEECA portfolios to identify strategies and initiatives to effectively deliver on DEECA and whole-of-government priorities and opportunities to embed Aboriginal self-determination and providing high-level advice and information, in the form of verbal updates, briefings, correspondence and reports, for a range of audiences including Ministers and DEECA Executives. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Victorian Aboriginal cultures and societies and ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people.
- A sound level of understanding and experience in government system and process with demonstrated experience in leading and managing in Government, including negotiating and consulting with senior public servants within a politically sensitive and complex environment.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
