Position Details

About us

The North West Metropolitan Area accounts for approximately 1500 staff across 16 sites. These sites are located in either the North or West of the Area and deliver a range of services including: custodial services at prisons, Community Correctional Services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs, front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications) and management of community services (including Victims' Support across the area).

Located across the North West Metropolitan Area are nine non-custodial locations and there are four custodial locations: maximum security prisons Metropolitan Remand Centre, Dame Phyllis Frost Centre and Melbourne Assessment Prison and the minimum security Judy Lazarus Transition Centre.

The Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC) is a 560 bed medium- to maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice.

About the role

This position will be required to provide a range of administration support services to the industry area of the prison.  Responsibilities will include:

  • being the initial contact for customers, preparing quotes predominantly for screen-printing, management of written reports and presentations
  • managing the prisoner pay system
  • data entry and using Oracle to raise purchase orders and record Work in progress.

  • the ability to analyse and interpret information, undertake research, prepare reports and correspondence
  • working effectively and collaboratively within a team
  • the ability to provide executive support in a timely and efficient manner, including the ability to produce high quality documentation within strict timelines.
