Position Details

Ambulance Victoria (AV) is now seeking a suitably qualified Media Liaison Officer for a fixed-term, 12 month maternity leave position, based in Doncaster. The successful incumbent would be required to start as soon as possible and should be a self-starter.

Reporting to the Manager of Public Affairs, the primary objective of the position is to foster a positive working relationship with the media, with an emphasis on generating coverage that highlights AV's innovation and success. The successful incumbent will also play a key role in supporting AV's wider communications to its stakeholders.

About the role

The responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

• responding to media enquiries;

• liaising with journalists and media;

• developing and supporting strategic media campaigns;

• supporting external events such as launches, openings and award ceremonies;

• contributing to communications across varied channels, including digital media and social media; and

• weekend and shift work as required to support AV media liaison.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or media experience, with exposure to journalism desirable. Your ability to prepare well-structured, accurate and concise documents and reports, as well as your attention to detail, needs to be first class. Relationship building is your forte and your strong knowledge of digital and social media will ensure success in this role.  Your capacity to make sound decisions under pressure as well as your high level of integrity will make you a stand out candidate.

The salary range for this position is $61,916 to $68,797 per annum + 9.5% super + salary packaging.
